Three DIY Skin Restoring Manuka Honey Masks

Three DIY Skin Restoring Manuka Honey Masks

When stress is banging on your door like it has a warrant, taking just fifteen minutes to mix up a little DIY face mask can help ease a bit tension from the day.

We’re sharing our three favourite DIY masks using our 525+ MGO Manuka Honey, that combines cleansing, medicinal properties to calm irritated skin, soothe redness, and ease breakouts.

So give yourself a moment, and start your micro self care session by preparing your face for an ultimate treat. Cleanse the skin, and remove the grime of the day or night with a gentle Manuka honey cleanser. This makes sure the mask is making direct contact with the skin, and no nasty oils or dirt is getting in the way of its work.

Once your skin is fresh and clean, it’s time to decide what mask you want to make:

Manuka honey, and chamomile oat milk mask

For a mind and skin soothing mask, mix up a super easy and restorative Manuka honey, chamomile oat milk mask.

In a saucepan, simmer a quarter cup of oat milk, with two teaspoons (roughly two teabags) of pure chamomile tea. Allow the milk to simmer for 3-4 minutes before setting aside to cool. Strain the chamomile flowers, and stir into four tablespoons of Manuka honey, and apply to the face, for a calming, and skin soothing face.

This facemask is perfect just before bed, and the chamomile soaked milk makes a fantastic pre-bed drink after stirring in a drop of honey. Leave the mask on for ten minutes and enjoy the calming milk, before rinsing the face with warm water.

Manuka honey, coconut cream, and turmeric mask

To brighten up tired, dehydrated skin, mix half a teaspoon of powdered turmeric with a tablespoon of coconut cream, and Manuka honey. Your dry skin will absolutely love the skin plumping and hydrating Manuka honey, and coconut cream, and you’ll see an immediate improvement after rinsing the mask off with warm water.

Manuka honey, green tea and peppermint mask

Though an excess of caffeine (hello three cups of coffee before ten in the morning!), can cause skin to suffer, the caffeine in green tea is a dream for needy skin. Peppermint is known for its soothing properties, and works with the green tea to brighten and rejuvenate the delicate skin on the face.

Empty one tea bag of peppermint, and one of green tea into four tablespoons of Manuka honey, and stir. Apply the mix to the face, and leave on for ten minutes. We recommend using this mask in the morning for a fresh, glowing look.

Post mask routine

After masking, give your skin an extra hydrating hand with a sensitive and gentle moisturiser, that uses Manuka honey to restore moisture and fight the signs of aging. And if you’re struggling with a few stubborn blemishes, the antimicrobial properties in our blemish stick won’t let you down.
